AMENDMENTS TO THE PAYPAL GIVING FUND CANADA DONOR TERMS OF SERVICE

Publication Date: February 20, 2025

A summary of changes follows:

We added section 12 language to the terms and provided a link to the French copy of the Donor Terms of Service for residents of Quebec.


Publication Date: January 16, 2024

A summary of changes follows:
  1. We added a clarification that we do not accept donations subject to conditions or restrictions.
  2. We updated the language to align more closely with language in the Income Tax Act.
  3. We added a clarification that our receipts include information provided by the donor and we are relying on the donor to provide accurate information.

Effective Date: June 12, 2020


A summary of changes follows:

We are updating the terms to clarify that grants may not confer more than an incidental benefit to the donor’s family and any entity affiliated or controlled by the donor.


AMENDMENTS TO THE PAYPAL GIVING FUND CANADA CHARITY USER AGREEMENT

A summary of changes follows:

We updated section 10.i language of agreement terms and provided a link to the French copy of the Charity User Agreement for residents of Quebec.


Publication date: January 16, 2024

A summary of changes follows:
  1. We updated the language to more accurately reflect how charities become enrolled with PayPal Giving Fund and complete their Charity Profile.
  2. We updated the language to align more closely with language in the Income Tax Act.
  3. We clarified references to the PayPal Giving Fund Website and added information on how to opt out of particular programs.
  4. We clarified information about how the Agreement could be terminated, and how enrolled charities may be resurfaced in our directory as unenrolled charities.

A summary of changes follows:

We are updating the terms which govern how charities may use donor personal information to contact donors. Charities may, where permitted under applicable law, use such information to contact donors with an electronic message where the message has as its primary purpose raising funds for the charity.


AMENDMENTS TO THE PAYPAL GIVING FUND CANADA DONATION DELIVERY POLICY

Publication Date: February 20, 2025

A summary of changes follows:

We amended our donation delivery policy to state that donated funds are kept in a secure, dedicated bank account and removed the statement that such accounts will not earn interest.


Publication Date: January 16, 2024

A summary of changes follows:

We updated the language to align more closely with language in the Income Tax Act, and to include additional clarification on our existing process for setting off refunded/cancelled donations against future grants instead of requesting the return of funds already granted.

We are adding a description of how we may accelerate the payment of grants in response to natural disasters, humanitarian crises or other events requiring urgent action.


AMENDMENTS TO THE PAYPAL GIVING FUND CANADA PRIVACY POLICY

  1. We updated the title to Privacy Statement.
  2. We made revisions to the Statement to:
    • Improve clarity and remove duplicative language,
    • align with best practices and standards, and
    • reflect current business and operational practices.

AMENDMENTS TO THE PAYPAL GIVING FUND CANADA DONATION REFUND POLICY

A summary of changes follows:
  1. We updated the language to align more closely with language in the Income Tax Act.
  2. We updated the language to clarify the circumstances needed to qualify for refunds, and provide more information about how errors in a donation (e.g., wrong charity selected to benefit) may be corrected, including partner-specific information.
