When and how does the charity receive my PayPal Giving Fund donation?

Usually, it takes 15-45 days to grant a donation to a charity enrolled with PayPal Giving Fund. It can take 90 days or longer if the charity isn’t enrolled with us.

Click the  Track your donation  link in your donation receipt email to see whether your donation has been granted to the charity. You can also enter the Transaction ID from your donation receipt into our  donation tracker.

PayPal Giving Fund receives the donation and then attempts to grant it to the charity you recommended. Pending distribution of grants, we hold the money in a secure, non-interest-bearing bank account.

Whether a charity is enrolled in PayPal Giving Fund determines the method and speed of how the money is granted.

We ensure that all charities have met the eligibility requirements in our  Nonprofit Certification Policy before  including them in our programmes. You can learn more about how we grant donations to enrolled and unenrolled charities by reviewing our  Donation Delivery Policy.
