Your PAN (Permanent Account Number) number is collected during the account creation. For businesses, Business PAN is collected. To successfully verify the PAN, it needs to meet the following requirements:

• The name on PayPal account should match the name on the PAN card
• PAN needs to be in good standing and valid
• For Individual PANs only - the PAN needs to be linked to Aadhaar

As per the regulations, if your PAN is not linked to Aadhaar, the PAN will be considered inoperative and cannot be verified. You can link your PAN to Aadhaar by visiting the income tax website and following instructions listed there.
