How do I link a debit or credit card to my account?

To add a card:

  1. Go to Wallet.
  2. Click Associate a debit or credit card.
  3. Enter the card information and click Associate Card.
  4. Click on the new card and click Confirm card.
  5. Click Get Code and then click Done.
Note: When adding a card, you’ll be asked to complete 3D-Secure by your card issuing bank. To confirm that you’re the owner of the card, your card issuer may ask you to enter a security code sent to your mobile, or you may need to complete biometric authentication (fingerprint or face recognition) on your banking app.

If you successfully complete the 3D-Secure authentication, you’ll be able to add the card to your PayPal account for future payments, some of which may prompt you to re-enter your 3D-Secure passcode or password, however, this should be the exception rather than the norm.

In some cases, in order to ensure you’re the card owner, we may ask you to confirm your card. If you see a “confirm credit card” link in the card details section of your PayPal Wallet, you’ll need to confirm your card before you can use it with PayPal. If you don’t see this link, you can begin using your card right away.
